Crude oil desalting plant
This facility is intended for desalination of crude oil for oils with large content of chlorides (over 100 mg/dm3). To increase market value of crude oil and to meet requirements for treatment of crude, it is necessary to remove salts, solids and water. Different technologies exist that allow for removal of the above impurities, but all of them are based on the same principle: injection of fresh water to dissolve salts contained in crude and then removal of water phase with salts dissolved in it. Simple 1-g API separators or high-tech centrifuges can be used to achieve this. In our case we are using 500-g centrifuges to separate salted water and solids from crude and to ensure high quality crude at the output. The plant have been designed according to European norms and in full compliance with field operations procedures. This unit features a special flange connection pipe rack where all components of the plant are fitted together, which allows for minimal space usage, fast and easy installation and start-up, ensuring operational logics for feeding of crude and wash water.

OPERATION CONCEPT
Crude is preheated in crude buffer tank to 65°C and is fed by the plant pumps to initiate processing cycle. Heat exchanger with hot water or steam is used for heating the crude to the temperatures from 50°C to 98°C in a closed loop system. Crude is tested for chlorides content, appropriate calculations are made to determine correct proportions of water to be mixed with the crude to ensure removal of all salts. Proportional amounts of crude oil and fresh water are fed into the plant. The two streams (water and crude) are first mixed in static mixer, where treatment chemicals are also injected. Mixed fluids (crude oil, water and chemicals) are straight away fed to G-force RTR Dynamic Residence Blender to ensure contact of salt with fresh water and its transition from crude to water phase. Simultaneously a mixture of fresh water and crude is treated with chemicals and then it proceeds to 5000-g high speed centrifuge to separate crude from salt water. Desalted crude oil is ready for tanking and storage or supply to refineries or for sale. Plant component designs can provide processing capacities of 5 and 15 cubic meters per hour. If required by customer, plant design can be adjusted to meet specific capacity requirements. The plant shown in the picture has design capacity of 45 m3/hour.
MAINTENANCE
Plant facilities are supplied with annual stock pf spare parts; recommended maintenance schedule is after every 2000 hours of operation (4 times a year). All primary equipment is supplied as complete package, including specialized tools; equipment is ready for installation on top of a concrete pad. No other requirements apply, save as concrete foundation. We also supply buildings to house our plant facilities for all climatic conditions.
DIMENSIONS AND UTILITIES
Power and water supply are only requirements for a plant with heating units. Power demand for the plant shown in the picture is 125 kWh.
